Tanjung Bungah - The Cove Beach Condominium

Tanjung Bungah, literally means "Flowery Cape" in Malay. The name alone conjures up some beautiful images of beaches and tropical flowers. It is located on the north east of Penang island, an area well known for its beautiful houses, high class hotels and also private, quiet beaches.

The Cove, PenangTanjung Bungah has been the residence of choice for many expatriates and higher income earners for decades. It is on the way to Batu Ferringhi and there is a hill overlooking the beach where one can purchase bungalow lots.

However, this time we are going to show you the Cove, a very luxurious condominium project which is sandwiched between the Copthorne Orchid hotel and Tanjung Country Club.

The Cove is an unmistakable landmark of four, 40 storey towers. Upon entering the property, the neatness  of the lawn, manicured perfectly match well with the children playground and the swimming pool next to it.

The landscape around the compound was tastefully done with water features, tropical plants and also natural rocks formation arranged beautifully.

To our delight, we discovered also little huts which had personal sauna or steam bath rooms right next to the swimming pool. Initially we thought those were merely changing rooms!  This was truly something.  For those who prefer another kind of workout, each block has a hi-tech and fully equipped gymnasium with all around glass walls so that you can enjoy the view while sweating it out.

The towers were built on a rocky cliff which gave all units a commanding scenery over the Andaman Sea.

The sea stretches endlessly to the horizon. The breeze that continually blows is truly refreshing.  This is the place for those who values natural light and wide open space. Access to the beach is available by going out through the gate and using the side trail. The beach is not even well known to the locals as it is not easily accessible or visible from the main road.

Each unit of the condominium covers the whole floor. There are five bedrooms that two generations of a family can easily live together. The built-up area is 6000 square feet per unit. Private lifts are accorded to each unit owner together with covered car park space for cars.

For this kind of property of similar features and location in Singapore or Hong Kong, the price can easily reach up to RM7 million but you would be happy to know that the price at the Cove starts merely at RM1.5 million depending on the unit's location in the compound and the floor level.  At the current upward trend of appreciation over 3% increase per annum, this is a good time to buy. The blocks towards the seaside are a bit more expensive then other blocks.

Among the public amenities available around the area is Dalat International School, Penang Swimming Club, Mount Miriam Hospital and TAR College. A hypermarket, local food court and a shopping center are also around the corner. To get to Georgetown it takes around 15 minutes and 35 minutes to reach Penang International Airport.  The distance is not that far at all.

Stay at Tanjung Bungah

You might want to breath the atmosphere of Tanjung Bungah. Fair enough, I would love to figure out if this would be the place to live. Fortunately there are two really good hotels serving you.

Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel is to me the nicest. Not only you have here a really good beach resort, but you are within walking distance of the The Cove and the Grand Ocean. Here is more about the Tanjung Bungah Beach Hotel.

Nearby the Tanjung Bungah Beach hotel is the Paradise Sandy Beach Resort located. The resort offers similar accommodation at similar walking distances from both the Cove and Grand Ocean. Thus both are recommended to stay, not only if you want to breath a piece of life here at Tanjung Bungah, but also of the holiday feel in Penang. Here is more about the Paradise Sandy Beach Resort
