Hotels in Malacca
Malacca is like Penang a heritage city. There are plenty of hotels in Malacca that are heritage hotels too. With its Portuguese, Dutch and British history, the city is one of the most visited attractions in Malaysia. The city center with the Stadthuys (Museum), Christchuch, St. Paul Church and A'Famosa are some of the best places to learn a bit of the Malaysian history.
This page offers some hotels in town we have sorted out for you.
Jonker Boutique Hotel
The Jonker Boutique Hotel is located in old China Town at the end of Jonker Street. It's a great location. It's a wonderful, clean, stylish and charming hotel where the staff is friendly and so helpful (including advice where to eat and what to visit).
There are only 16 rooms but what kind of rooms! Not for nothing the hotel won the Travelers Choice trophy 2012 with Tripadvisor. Room go for RM 200-300. Supertip!
Sightseeing in Malacca - Tour from Kuala Lumpur
The tour starts in Kuala Lumpur and shows you all the main historical buildings in Malacca including the Cheng Hoon Teng Temple, the Dutch Stadthuys, Christchurch and much more.
The Equatorial Hotel is an international business resort located in the heart of historical Malacca city. The legendary A'Famosa (a Portuguese fortress built in 1511) for example is only 100 meters away.
The Equatorial has two room types: Deluxe Rooms and Equator Club Room and 7 different restaurants and bars.
If you need to check out late, and the room is not taken, you can stay until 4pm!
The Everly Resort is another of the hotels in Malacca we have to mention. It is located on the sea front in Tanjung Kling near the historical city of Malacca.
You get first class service and it has as one of the few hotels good views of the Straits of Malacca.
The hotel used to be known as the Riviera but changed name in recent years.
The Weilia Hotel Malacca is recently renovated. It's one of the smaller hotels in Malcca with 25 rooms and is considered to be the entrance to Malacca's Central Park and other attractions of Malacca.
The hotel is a good deal for the price of around RM 80-150.
Another decent choice is the Mimosa Hotel. It's a basic no nonsense hotel with nice clean and spacious rooms. For the price it is an excellent value.
