I left Singapore through the backdoor and traveled by bus to Malacca, two women-teacher on their way home for a holiday took me under their wings and introduced me to heavenly dishes I probably wouldn't have eaten on my own. They showed me around their hometown and we went from one feast to an other. There was nothing I didn't like. But most of all I loved the fresh fruit available everywhere.

So, you are growing my favorite....

...fruit tree. I think I have to come for a visit ;-) Papaya is my favorite tropical fruit - they cost an arm and a leg here in Canada and don't taste as well as if you can pluck them directly from the tree.

Fruits in Malaysia are amazing
by: Peter

I agree, the assortment of fresh fruits in all sorts and sizes is amazing. For the locals the tope favorite is of course Durian, the sweet tasting but horrible smelling "king of fruits" as some of my friends call them.

For me the king of fruits is still the mango but I love mangosteen, rambutan, dragonfruit and many more. And while I am writing, I am even growing my very own papayas, with two fast growing papaya trees. Nothing better then your own stuff.
