Kuala Lumpur City Center
If you are going into Kuala Lumpur before exploring Malaysia, private transport is a good option, especially with children and your luggage.
If you travel on low budget you might want to use the city shuttles which leave every half hour and cost around RM 10. Typically they leave when full. The city shuttles leave from KLIA Sentral and KLIA-LCC (for arrivals with Airasia).
There are regular trains into the city too but you will have to walk a bit to your preferred hotel (or take a cab anyway). That is why our first recommendation is a private car where the driver meets you at the exit gate of the airport and brings you quickly to your hotel of your choice.
We can offer you two options: private shuttle buses (3 to 8 persons) to and from the airport and to the railway station.
Private shuttle to the Airport
If you have a lot of luggage, travel with a group or family (3 to 8 people) shuttle transport is what you really want. The driver will speak English and might give you some info about KL on the way into the city.
The service is especially interesting if you have a late arrival or very early morning flight out.
Shuttle bus from KLIA or KLIA-LCC into the Kuala Lumpur city center. Use this on arrival, they get tons of great reviews.
Private shuttle to the railway station
The railway station in Kuala Lumpur can be a little confusing. It seems there's always work around the place to be done. A taxi is the easiest way to arrive right at the door of the railway station. If you arrive at the railway station, your driver will pick you up. He will be easily recognized by his clothes, a distinct uniform, maroon Batik shirt with black trousers will be there holding a sign displaying your name.
