Great place for a relaxing vacation

we stayed at Pangkor Sandy Beach resort(May 2011) which is a nice small resort with comfy clean rooms, decent pricing, good swimming pool, very good location and next to Pasir Bogak beach. Beach is good for long morning/evening walks, bathing and water sports.

Being vegetarians, owner of the resort got few veggie dishes done for us which was very thoughtfull of him.

There are shops nearby(walking distance)to the resort to make day to day purchases and to take bikes on rent(15 RM for 3 hrs and 25 RM for full day on bargain). Cruising along the Pangkor island on bike is a very good experience. it was so much fun that we did it twice in 2 days. Just make sure that your bike is having good brakes, acceleration and is comfortable to drive as there is lot of hilly terrain( including crossing 20% gradient twice) to be crossed which is actually the best part of the drive. Just get arnd 1.5 litre of petrol(only 3 RM) for 3 hrs of fun around the island. Cycles and cars are also available for rent.

water sports options are also available near the resort like banana boat, Jet Ski and other high speed water sports. Got a good package deal of 50 RM for 4 water sport package except Water Ski. Water at the beach was very clear and the beach itself is very clean.

I would suggest not to go for Snorkelling at Coral island as this is not a good place and Pangkor is not known for snorkelling. its purely waste of money. Instead do swimming at various beaches as described in this website. I found Pasir Bogak beach safe for swimming.

For Sunset, on clear days, sit at Daddy's cafe on Coral Bay beach for a lovely evening.
