getting sea shells in Pangkor

Hi
many thanks for creating this informative website. I have added it in my favourites for future travel to other malaysian islands.

I am going to Pangkor island next week end with my family. My 5 year old is very much interested in collecting natural sea shells. is there any good sea beach/area where my kid can collect good sea shells.
Also I am looking for website which can tell me about the tides timing accurately in Pangkor island area. are you aware of any such website.

thanks once again for this website.

Hi

The Pangkor beaches are not the best places to collect sea shells. You could try Pulau Giam, the tiny spot in front of Nipah Bay (you have to go there by boat).

There are two alternatives, the shop of Mr. and Mrs Beh, who sell ikan bilis
www.pulau-pangkor.com/ikan-bilis.html, they sell sea shells, although most come from Thailand but they have a nice collection.

Of course it is far more adventurous to collect yourself. If you have time, drive 35 km north to Segari beach. There's a turtle management center and a beautiful beach. I have been searching sea shells there and found many beautiful ones.

Of course it's a good moment to see the beautiful turtles too. Find directions here:
