Snorkeling at Pangkor

The best way is simply go to either Teluk Nipah or Pasir Bogak. Here you will find plenty of boats with snorkeling equipment. Usually they do an all around the island tour giving you time to explore the spots. Probably the best spot is Pulau Giam, opposit of Telukl Nipah. Prices depend on amount of people.

motorbikes on ferry
by: peter

I don't know how big your motorbikes are but in general only scooters can be on the ferry. On arrival you can try but if your bike is bigger than the usual motorbike/scooter it's most like not possible. See the photos of the ferry boats. I've never seen anything bigger than the ordinary motorbikes on the ferry anyway.

no flights to pangkor
by: Peter

There are currently no flights at all to Pangkor from any city in Malaysia. The easiest way is to take the bus, 3.5 hours from Butterworth to Lumut. Check http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/bus-to-Pangkor.html for details

Construction in Pangkor

by Tania
(Brighton, UK)

Hello

I have heard that there is a lot of construction going on in Teluk Nipah on Pangkor. Do you think this could spoil our stay and is there any place we can stay to avoid being near this?

thanks

Tania

Construction at Teluk Nipah
by: Gordie

The construction is dreadful, noisy, and spoils the whole beach. what used to be a beautiful sand, grassy beachfront is a mass of concrete retaining walls, over development with shops that actually (I kid you not) block views of the beach from all the chalets and resorts. Change your plans if you can

Nipah Bay Construction
by: Peter

Yes, there's a lot of construction going on at Teluk Nipah. However, the hotels at Nipah Bay do not suffer from the work. The problem, of course, is the beach itself, see for example the Anjugan, Nipah Guesthouse.

There are two options. Stay at Nipah Bay and use the Coral Bay Beach, 5 minutes walk or stay at Pasir Bogak. Best place here would be Vikri Beach Resort.
