Pulau Pangkor Newsletter No. 45, Real Estate, diving, Krabi, cycling and Yangshuo
May 03, 2008
Hello,

Welcome again to a  new edition of the Pulau Pangkor Newsletter, again a little later then you may expect it. Days getting busier and busier. This time I was spending a week in Penang. As you may have seen we are working hard on real estate issues. More and more we got queries about other areas than Pangkor/Lumut and Seri Manjung. Especially Penang is in need. It's not surprising as Penang, more then other states in Malaysia is a real cultural meting pot. And of course the food is fantastic. As our real estate agent in Penang told me: Penang is food paradise.

Apart of what is in this newsletter, I have much more to tell you but it doesn't fit in in this edition.

What do we have in this newsletter? :

  • Real Estate in Penang
  • Malaysia My Second Home
  • Diving with Imp in East Malaysia and Indonesia
  • Advertisement: Timeshare
  • The Magic
  • You wrote...
  • The revamp of Bicycle-Adventures.com
  • Krabi Beach Lovers
  • The Love Ladder of China
  • 123Greetings.com
Happy reading!

Real Estate in Penang
====================================

Penang, you like it or not, is one of the most popular destinations in Malaysia. It's not for nothing as Penang offers on a small area a lot of activities. Not for nothing it is therefore a popular destination for people who would want to live in Malaysia under the Malaysia My Second Home. With the unique mix of Malay, Chinese and Indian culture, Penang is the place to be. More then anywhere else in Malaysia the three main races of Malaysia found a place here. Temples, festivals, beaches, nature parks and of course food... Ahhhhh.... for the food alone you should visit Penang. Especially the Chinese and Indian food is unbeatable.

Living in Penang is living in what some of my friends in Europe and the USA say, living in Paradise. Although I still prefer Pangkor and the surrounding here for living, I can see the beauty and the reasons why Penang is such a popular place.

Take Batu Uban with the new build Sanctuary. We saw the houses and I admit, it's tempting. The area offers spectacular views over he straits to the mainland and the Penang Bridge.

The heart of Penang is Gurney Drive. This unique blend of old and new offers even more spectacular ways of living. The Gurney Paragon is in full process of building ...

... while a little further at Tanjung Tokong a whole new piece of reclaimed land has a lot of new beautiful apartments. And what to think of the Cove at Tanjung Bugah. The Cove may look like just another tower but inside it is fantastic, and as it is located right at the beach so all apartments (6000sq feet) have excellent views over the Andaman Sea.

There is more to come, but as I am also human, and blessed with only two hands, I was not able to write more at the moment. However, I promise you within the next months more will come.

Malaysia My Second Home
====================================

The Malaysian government has a great program available for those who seek an opportunity to live in Malaysia for a longer time. The program is called Malaysia My 2nd Home and it is valid for the period of 5 years. We wrote a page about the details of the program.

http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/retire-in-malaysia.html

Quite a few foreigners have subscribed to the program. Some decided to live in Kuala Lumpur, some in Langkawi and many in Penang. In Seri Manjung and Lumut there's a few foreigners using the program too. Check it out:

Diving with Imp
====================================

We have been able to set up a connection with a divemaster Imran Ahmad, also known as Imp. He has excellent tours in East Malaysia and Indonesia available. Plus, he is an extraordinary photographer. We are happy he allowed us to use some of his photos. Check it out

Timeshare

Timeshares afford vacationers the opportunity to visit their favorite vacation destination year after year without struggling to find appropriate accommodations. Because they offer pre-paid, week long accommodation, timeshares relieve much of the hassle of seeking out clean, comfortable hotels or motels and securing daily accommodation. Renting day-to-day space at a hotel can often prove quite costly. Owning vacation property in your favorite destination, like Pulau Pangkor, offers a great alternative that can be very cost-effective.  Doesn't this sound great? Come on in and read more here:

The Magic
====================================

The Pangkor website keeps growing. Last month, April, we celebrated our first month with more then 100.000 page views and almost 50.000 visits, you can say the Pangkor website is quite successful, especially if you consider how little known Pangkor outside Malaysia is. But how is it possible that a website about such a small island (the largest chunk of the Pangkor website is still about Pangkor and Lumut) is so successful.

The answer is quite simple. It's all based on one principle: CONTENT. Write good content, generate Traffic, Pre-sell and Monetize. It's called CTPM and here's the explanation:

- http://ctpm.sitesell.com/webselling64290.html

But if content rules, how come especially the Pangkor website while so unknown attracts visitors? Again it is content and the use of keywords that explains the success. As you know, many websites look beautiful, many look probably more beautiful then pulau-pangkor.com. Still, I hear those webmasters searching why no one finds them. Even though they have written about a subject that is popular.

The answer is quite simple. Either the subject of the website is too vague, too broad or too small. And those websites do not have the tools we have. Yes, we have tools the rest do not have. Some tools are free for you to use. Like SearchIt:

- http://searchit.sitesell.com/webselling64290.html

This tool is extended in our package but it is still very valuable for you building a website.

Last week I received an email asking if this person could do what I did. The answer was simple: YES. Of course you can do what I did. Sitesell, because that is the package we talk about, offers all you need to know about building a successful website and generate an income for you. It's not, as some suggest for beginners or for travel websites alone. Some websites build with SBI make over $300.000 annually. Not me though, not me YET. But please read some case studies.

- http://case-studies.sitesell.com/webselling64290.html

As you see, anyone can do what I did with the Pangkor site. The magic, well... is a simple technique ANYONE can follow.

The revamp of Bicycle-Adventures.com
====================================

Bicycle Adventures.com, my second website has been through a state of revamping. I wasn't happy with some features in the websites, so I changed quite a bit. The results were immediately visible with an increase of 20% traffic. Check it out

Yangshuo season is getting busy, book now
====================================

The main season for Yangshuo and Guilin has finally started. Right now the Golden Week is in full swing. Jessie, my operator and guide in Yangshuo is so busy now she hardly has time to answer emails. However, she has still plenty of time to take you on a 3,4 or 5 day tour in and around Yangshuo. If Yangshuo is on your "to do" list, check it out and get Jessie as your local guide.

Krabi Beach Lovers
====================================

Krabi is a small town in South Thailand. Alex wrote a great little website about Krabi and the surrounding. Of course Ao Nang is most famous of the beaches here and Alex explains in detail where to go and what to do. He also asked me to contribute to his website. Thus I wrote a page about cycling to Krabi from Surat Thani to Satun. Using this road you will pass Krabi. Here's the story:
