Nipah Bay Rooftop Cafe

The Nipah Bay Rooftop Cafe

is a new cafe in the back of Nipah Bay Villa. With the extension of the hotel with a set of low budget rooms, the management of Nipah Bay Viilla, Mr. and Mrs. Sabtu have finally found their special roof top cafe.

When I visited the cafe, Mrs. Sabtu told me she is still not sure about the name, the may rename the cafe into Eagle Nest Cafe as an eagles nest is to be seen from the cafe.

The cafe is build on top of the two storey new build rooms in the back of the Nipah Bay Villa. The rooms are certainly not as nice as the chalets which, to me are superior. Don't get me wrong, the new rooms are all good decent build, with hot water, TV etc. but a little dark.

The cafe on the other hand is a nice open constructions build on the roof of the new building in an L-shape. With "open" I mean it has a roof but no windows. Fans keep together with a little wind the cafe cool.

Compared to the situation downstairs, all the dishes of the Nipah Villa Menu are available. You are away from all noise and especially in the evenings the cafe is an oasis at Nipah. None of the hotels in Nipah, or even at Pangkor have a rooftop cafe.

In the mornings you can see the eagles flying around their eagles nest, just behind the cafe.

In the morning and evening the local hornbills come and have a look for food. The staff of Nipah Bay Villa has bread and fruits to make them come back. Few places where you can such a close up of these colorful birds.

The rooftop cafe is an excellent hideaway after a day at the Nipah Beach or going around Pangkor island on motorbike.

The cafe is available for everyone available. There are two entrances, one goes through the front entrance. The other comes straight from the main road, next door to the new build resort.

Downstairs, the cafe is at the second level are rest areas with benches available. We come, and recommend the Nipah Bay Villa now for more then 3 years (the NBV is the oldest hotel in Teluk Nipah - opened in 1988), and this cafe is a very welcome extension of the hotel. The rooftop cafe too is highly recommended.
