Taiping is really cool
by: Peter

I missed that last post about the Taiping blog. IO agree, Taiping is a really cool city. Despite the low status it has with international tourist, it has a lot to offer, and not only the Zoo and the Gardens.

Something even locals hardly know is a nice little river trekking that ends at the locally famous Burmese Pool:

And nearby Taiping is the beautiful area of Kuala Sepetang.

But one thing many people simply overlook is the variety of food in the many food courts. Regardless your taste, you will find some of the best and amazing dishes here. I come regularly in Taiping and I always love it.

Taiping

Taiping is certainly a nice place for retirement. Hopefully it can still keep it's charm. The rivers should be protected.

great

Hi Phil

Yes, we love more photos, it gives us a better understanding of Taiping in those days and it shows what you guys were doing here.

One thing amazes me when I look at the photos of Brian and Ian, it seems Taiping and the camp have not changed too much. As Brian once wrote to me, the wooden houses are replaced by stone but further it seemed the same.

Taiping itself is still a mellow town, it jas its share of tourism (mostly local) with the zoo, bukit merut and lake gardens but it's still nice town to hang out for a couple of days.

Thanks Phil for your contribution, and yes, we love to see more and more and more....
