Chinese New Year in Yangshuo

Some years ago I stayed in Yangshuo during Chinese New Year. I think it was my 2nd or 3rd CNY in China but the first time in Yangshuo. It was freezing cold, or maybe it wasn't that bad but in all the cafes heaters were on. It was also the first time in years I had some serious problems.

There were problems in Holland with my house. The tenant had not paid for a while and I had little money left. During that time my wallet with my creditcards and cash money was also stolen. It seems all bad luck but I was very lucky to have friends like William and Linda.

They invited me to stay in their own house during the very busy days. William and Linda were at the time already good friends, but their kindness I have never forgotten. They were just married, Linda was pregnant, it was very hectic in town and the last they could have around was an unexpected guest.

But they didn't care, they saw my problem and they helped, it was not even the question to help or not, they simple did what they thought they had to do. For 14 days I stayed with them until I got my credit and debit card back. William and Linda saved me from a lot of troubles.

Imagine.... get robbed in the middle of China and then... thanks to William and Linda I had a good time despite the problems.

It was probably my most beautiful memory I have on Chinese New Year.
