<title>Feb 3, Cycling to Pangkor, yes or no?</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/cycling-to-Pangkor.html</link>
<description>Interestingly more and more locals come to the conclusion cycling is fun! And yes it IS fun. And cycling to Pangkor is not only possible but it's also very rewarding especially if you leave the ongoing roads behind you.

For example, there are some awesome small kampong and plantation roads leading to Lumut and Pangkor... here are some details.

&lt;p align=&quot;center&quot;&gt;

<title>Jan 28, The jungle of Teluk Batik and Teluk Rubiah</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/jungle-trekking.html</link>
<description>One of the last parts of jungle in Seri Manjung, and it is at the point of being destroyed. When Teluk Rubiah's transformation is complete the over 5000 workers will need a fast transport into Teluk Rubiah. Will it be through the canyon? I heard a 4 lane road is going to be build. So far again for Zambry's promised Teluk Rubiah will stay green.

<title>Dec 21, Jungle trekking Teluk Segadas and jungle trekking to Pasir Bogak</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/jungle-trekking-teluk-segadas.html</link>
<description>A little visited beach at Pangkor is Teluk Segadas. It may change in the near future as this area is in the spotlight of being &quot;developed&quot; into a beach resort area. There is however quite a bit of jungle trekking possible. So here is the story of my visit yesterday to Teluk Segadas and the failed attempt to trek to Pasir Bogak.

    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/destruction-of-teluk-segadas.html</link>
<description>In 2012 the little beach of Teluk Segadas will change forever. The plans for changing the beach into a new tourist destination are approved and the work will start soon.

Is it destruction of development? Will it attract the whole year around more tourists? Here is what I think:

    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/Pulau-Pangkor-blog-1.html#Teluk-Segadas-being-destroyed</link>
<description>Chief Minister Zambry announced a huge project that will effectively destroy a llarge part of the jungle of Pulau Pangkor around Teluk Segadas for tourism.

After destroying Teluk Rubiah at the mainland, it's now time for more destruction of virgin jungle at Pangkor itself, all in the name of progress.

    <title>Oct 10, Charcoal Factory in Kuala Sepetang</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/charcoal-factory.html</link>
<description>This is an interesting daytrip. Best base is Taiping, which is only 15 km away. You can combine it with a visit to the mangrove forest. And for those who really want to push it, ask in the restaureants in the village if there is someone who is willing to take you around.

You can ask the mangrove protection office but their tours of about an hour are certainly NOT worth the money (they have very little knowledge of the mangroves and hardly understand the value of it).

<description>Why go jungle trekking at Pangkor? The 4 hour trekking over Pangkor island give you a great opportunity to learn about tropical rainforest without having the need to go far out in the Malaysian wilderness.

    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/Pulau-Pangkor-blog-1.html#A-day-trip-to-Bruas</link>
<description>bruas? Never heard off. I can hear you thinking. However, Bruas has an interesting history, it was even the center of a Hindu Kingdom. Not that there's anything left than a few very hard to find tombs. The museum of Bruas tells more about that story.

But there is a beautiful piece of tropical rainforest and small fast running river to visit. It IS worth to visit, and trust me, very few tourists ever come here.

Yes, you can come by local bus from Lumut and change in Bruas to a taxi.

<title>Sep 19, Traveling from Kuala Kangsar to Ipoh</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/Pulau-Pangkor-blog-1.html#Traveling-from-Kuala-Kangsar-to-Ipoh</link>
<description>Travelers to Pangkor usually don't see much more than Pangkor itself. That's too bad as there's a lot to explore in the former mining state. A great way to explore is to use a bicycle. However, if you don't have your own, it's a little difficult. That said, you can do it by taxi too and it's worth to spend the time/money on it.

I did recently a loop from Pangkor to Kuala Kangsar and back, here's how it looks like.

    <title>Sep 16, Pasir Bogak, Pangkor Island</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/Pasir-Bogak.html</link>
<description>I like Pasir Bogak beach at Pangkor, especially in the quiet season, when (like yesterday) I have the beach for myself, I have a private beach! Pasir Bogak is a very long stretch of sand with hotels in the central area but the best parts are the northern areas around Vikri Beach Resort where the water contains no rocks (around the Sea View there are some rocky areas). I added some new photos I made yesterday. Hope you like them as much as I like them.

    <title>Aug 14, Kaliaman Temple near Lumut</title>
    <link>http://www.pulau-pangkor.com/Kaliaman-temple.html</link>
<description>To my surprise I saw there was a festival in the Kaliaman temple in the plantations near Lumut. Never have I see any person here. I've been here several times as I like to sit here and listen to the silence. This time it was noisy with laughter, music and cars and motorcycles arriving and leaving.

I took some photos which I added on the page which I wrote a long time ago. Here's one...

<description>Travelers to Pangkor might be interested in finding alternative roads to come to Pangkor. One of those options is to travel through Ipoh, where you can visit the heritage and the Sam Poh Tong cave temples amongst other things. Should you be really interested, take this road to Teluk Intan. From there you can either go north to Pangkor or south in the direction of Kuala Lumpur.
