To answer that question, I have to explain a bit on the geographical situation of Pangkor island itself. Most of the island is dense tropical jungle. Fortunately the Malaysian government has claimed this jungle as forest reserve. Also, most of Pulau Pangkor is hilly. Therefore a large part of Pangkor is not assessable for any form of house or hotel building. However, there is not a lot of land, and there's even less at the beach available. Pangkor real estate at the beach is rare at Pangkor itself, but not impossible, If a beach location is what you are looking for, you may wan to have a look at Teluk Senangin right at the opposite of Pulau Pangkor. Located at the West part of the island, it contains the best beach (in our view) of Pangkor. Obviously, when one is looking for land to start building a dream house, hotel or guest house, this may be your best bet!Perfectly located at the west side of Pangkor, you will enjoy the Straits of Malacca in its full glory. Especially sunset is quite spectacular. That's why we started to look for real estate around Nipah Bay.
Fortunately Pangkor is still mostly jungle where the hornbills, monitor lizards and monkeys are still king. So, no Pangkor real estate. nor property? No land available? Fortunately this part of Pangkor has still some flat lands which are hardly used. It means that if you decide to come here to build your dream house, hotel or guest house, you have to start cutting down the jungle. There is land available around Nipah, mostly a bit inlands, 3-5 minutes walk from the beach. Most of the available land you will find on the west coast of the island. Some of this land is still jungle (as the photo above). But sometimes you will be able to purchase land that already has some buildings. This can be hotels or houses.
